Amit Acara das is co-director of the Bhaktivedanta Center. He is an initiated disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who brought Bhakti Yoga to the West. He spent his early devotional years in ashram life, and in 1982, helped found the New Goloka Temple community in North Carolina. He moved with his wife, Mayapriya, to Charlottesville, Virginia in 1993 to start the Bhaktivedanta Center and sponsor the Bhakti Yoga Club at the University of Virginia. He is an awesome keyboard player.
Co-director, Mayapriya dasi, is also an initiated disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Like her husband, she spent her early devotional years in ashram life. She is the editor of the website and newsletter. A book designer by trade, she has worked on many books by her spiritual master through the Bhaktivedanta Archives, and the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, as well as those of some of her godbrothers, including H.H. Indradyumna Swami, H.H. Giriraja Swami, H.H. Hridayananda Goswami, and H.H. Mukunda Goswami. She recently launched a publishing company to publish Gaudiya Vaishnava books, www.bookwrightspress.com
